Herd opens http://site.test with no port. You use https://name.localhost:8443. Can I get production-style URLs without a port — without typing the macOS admin password every launch?
Why :8088 and :8443 instead of 80/443?
Default ports are 8088 / 8443 so the stack comes up without an admin password. That is a product choice: work first, privileges when you want them — not a cut-down localhost.
URLs: http://name.localhost:8088 and https://name.localhost:8443.
For 80 and 443: Settings → Ports, enable, Save and restart. Sometimes a one-time privilege helper is required — once, not on every start.
Install the app and open the first site on 8443: mkcert HTTPS ships on Free.
